I bought this item for a community apartment bathroom. Had an issue with it at first - worked a couple of times then stopped. I'm a tinkerer so I decided to take the bottom off so I could get to the "bottom" of the problem (pun intended). Remove the 4 screws in the battery box and take the bottom off. Careful. There are short wires connected to the circuit board. There's a 4-pin connector on the circuit board attached to a ribbon cable which goes to the top of the dispenser. It seems that this is the problem with most of these right out-of-the-box - a bad connection. I simply used my thumbnails to disconnect the cable then plugged it back in. WARNING! Don't try to "wiggle" the connector out. Doing so might break the solder connections at the circuit board. Push it straight out with your thumbnails. After putting everything back together I filled the reservoir with a 50/50 mixture of liquid soap and water mixed and tried it. Now it works perfectly and dispenses every time. A word or note: Some people have said they need to dispense several issues of soap to clean their hands. If you mix the soap as I've described above (not in the instructions, but mentioned with much pricier dispensers) it will dispense enough soap to make a good lather. The problem is that most liquid soaps are so thick that the little motor cannot push enough soap through the feed tube per dispense cycle. Just remember to wet your hands FIRST before dispensing the soap.
I started to use it as soon as I received it. This morning I went to refill it and noticed a rust and salt residue on the bottom. I opened the cover to look at the batteries and saw that it was full of rust. I will be returning it. I am so disappointed in this product!

I really wanted this for all over the house, so bought 4. Took 3 back immediately for failure to work and replaced with three new ones. All four worked for a few days then stopped. I put new batteries in and the same thing happened. Constant replacing of batteries made this unit cost ineffective. Discovered batteries were fully charged, so it was the units that were failing. Cleaned out the tiny hoses and tried again. They worked for a couple of weeks, then stopped again. Don't waist your money.

Like others are saying it works well for a little while. After that, sometimes it doesn't sense your hand near at all, sometimes it senses it for much too long & spills out the equivalent of 3-6 long pumps when you were trying to get one short one. I bought it before the current sale for $20-ish, but it's not even worth that.
I bought this because it shows foam soap on the box and says that it’s compatible with foam soaps but when I set it up it doesn’t actually foam the soap, it comes out as liquid and the soap just runs off your hand. I’ll purchase something different that does foam use this one with regular liquid soap.
I got two of these automatic dispensers on sale. I had been looking for auto soap dispensers for an elderly lady I have been taking care of whose mobility issues prevented her from being able to use a plastic bottle dispenser or even control a bar of soap. These dispensers were the perfect answers! The batteries lasted for about 9mos. with daily use and never turning the dispensers off. Great product, highly recommend!
Great looking, but it just doesn't work. Corrresponded with the company an d never got a response. Stay away from this product

I didn't have high expectations about this item since it was the cheapest one for that category. Surprisingly it's been months since I bought it and still works perfectly fine. I changed batteries twice and my soap doesn't get wasted. Great purchase
