This appears to be a solid gray color, but was actually a printed spongy pattern. Had to return it as it clashed with my other decor.

The color was depicted as charcoal grey but the umbrella we received is actually a medium-light grey. I don't know if the wrong color was sent or if the color described as charcoal is really just much lighter than shown, but it fits our decor so I was happy to keep it. It's not just a solid grey either, there's a nice textured pattern to it. The umbrella is mounted on a lightweight pole with a faux wood texture pattern printed on it. The support ribs are skinny aluminum rods fitted into pockets sewn into the outside edge of the canopy fabric. There is a crank to open and close the umbrella which operates smoothly and effortlessly. The button to operate the tilt function is located high up on the pole and may be difficult for shorter people to reach, especially when having to reach over the patio table to get to it, but apart from that it works fine. The umbrella must be securely fastened into a base when tilted or the breeze will just spin it around. The whole umbrella assembly is pretty lightweight making it easy to put it up and take down for storage. There's a vent at the top of the canopy that works well at letting the breeze flow through so that the umbrella won't get picked up by the wind. We're very happy with the product. I don't know if I could recommend paying full price for the quality of materials, but as long as it's on sale it seems like a good value.

The color of the umbrella is uniquely beautiful but the umbrella lowers, cranks down, on its own. There should be a locking mechanism to prevent this from happening. Seems dangerous to people who have young children. Also, the brand's suggested umbrella stand isn't very supportive. It sways terribly with mild wind. The plastic umbrella pole is bound to break. I'm sure this won't last long.
