Simply Essential™ Y-Peeler

Look… I didn’t realize there was a safety plastic when I tried to use it for the first time. I was upset it didn’t work…. Until I took a REAL CLOSE look and realized there’s a small piece of safety plastic you need to peel off that almost isn’t noticeable. I’m gonna guess that all these negative reviews are from people that didn’t realize it either. After removing that, this worked perfect! Peeled a bunch of sweet potatoes for one meal and potatoes for homemade fries with not a single problem.

I bought a new peeler to replace an older one. The new one is sub par. The angle of the blades is wrong and it barely peels anything. I have submitted a photo of my older green one and the new black one to show the different angle of the blades. Both my husband and I tried it and are very glad we kept the older one. We consider the new black one a waste of money and will toss it pronto.

You have to hold this peeler vertical to the vegetable you are peeling. Terrible design, cheap. It isn't worth the gas to drive over to BBB and return it. This is the second "Simply Essential" product I've bought, and both were terrible. What happened to the days when BBB had tons of name brand products to choose from?

It is disappointing that this item would still be sold. After purchasing it and trying unsuccessfully to use it, I consulted the reviews. The peeler does not peel and should be removed from the shelves. Why sell an item when many people say it just doesn’t work?

Thought I'd try this just because BB&B surely would not put their brand on a product that simply can't work...right? Not right. This needs to be pulled from their shelves. It's simply not designed properly at all. One has to hold it at a completely unnatural angle to make contact with whatever it is you want to peel, and even then, it does a poor job. Thought maybe it was just the one I happened to pick up, but based on other reviews, no, it's the botched design.

Doesn't work, the serrated blade does not slide on the veggie. This one hit the garbage bin, didn't bother returning . Save your money.

Terrible don’t buy this peeler.
