I've purchased many mattress pads over the years, and the ones in this price range tend not to fit deeper mattresses, but this one fits my 13" mattress really well. it's snug and doesn't shift around in the middle of the night. It's also not as hot as some of the plusher ones where those are more like a pillow top, this one is more of protective cover that still has some cushioning. While it's not technically waterproof, it does seem to be water resistant, so if you accidentally spill something your mattress will probably be ok. Overall, I think that for this price it definitely does the job.

This will work if you want to cover mattress only. If you are looking for padding comfort, this is not the one

Most mattress pads are waterproof, but this one is not.

I was initially happy with this mattress cover, as top felt good to the touch and sides fit mattress well. It wasn't until it was used by a guest, some time later, that I carefully washed it and the under side pilled and 'shed'. Am disappointed and will be returning it, hoping BB&B easily accepts returns of inferior product.

I bought this for our guest bed, and so far it seems to work just fine. However, I have not washed it more than once. Hopefully, it will hold up for a while.

I'm glad I read reviews on this mattress pad because it fit my mattress well. I've had other pads split & tear trying to get them onto the mattress, but this one said it fit up to 17" deep and it is true. We were able to place it without incident and have been sleeping on it for over a month with no problems in terms of comfort, it staying put, etc. It is not deeply padded but I don't need it since I have a pillow top mattress anyway. I could have spent more and not necessarily gotten a better product. This Simply Essential product is fantastic for the price and I would highly recommend it.
