Got a pair to match some other carved front furniture I have. The color is rich and they are beautiful and very well made, but yes, they are lower to the ground. With a tall enough lamp they look great anyway. They arrived in sturdy boxes and were so well packaged that no damage would have been possible even if dropped from a 2nd story. Lots of styrofoam and heavy duty cardboard protecting corners. There was a lot for recycling as well as trash. Assembly was so easy and took about 5 mins each-- just screw in the legs. Drawers -- which can be difficult to fit in properly -- were already done. I had been looking at these for a couple of months and when I saw they were on sale I snapped them up. Also got $100 in rewards so got some kitchen items I needed!

The look and quality of the nightstand is very nice. I'm sure I knew the height of it when I ordered and that is was shorter than the one I had before, but seeing it next to the bed was surprising. It looks ridiculous. The mattress and box spring are average for todays beds but this must have been designed for a platform bed at most. Maybe a mattress on the floor. I don't want to go through the hassle of returning it so I found replacement legs online from the Home Depot. Run around $12 a leg. I'll have to stain to match the rest of nightstand.
