LOVE this iron!!! It is just like my 10 year old Rowenta Autosteam 1700W Max that I dropped & it broke in pieces with more features. Love the 7 foot cord which is longer than before. Tip of plate is flat to get into small spaces. A lot more holes on plate. I like the weight of the iron which is the same so you don't have to press so hard to iron. Love that the water tank is a ton easier for filling. Love that both sides of the iron has a max fill that is extremely readable. Love that it still has a temperature dial that I can control instead of the new irons that have the smart technology to pick the temperature via the type of fabric you are using. Hope I have this iron for another 10+ years.
I wanted to like this iron. From what I gather, Rowenta has a good reputation. I spent extra to get a "made in Germany" iron, and I chose this one to be sure that using tap water was acceptable. I could NOT be more disappointed. It heats well, maintains temperature, and makes a lot of steam. Beyond that, it's rubbish. I've spent less than half the cost of this iron and been 10 times happier. First, the handle is too small, meaning there's no room for your hand. I have small hands, and no matter how careful I am, I will hit either the temperature dial (below your fingers) or the spray/shot of steam buttons (in front of your hand) or both. The temperature control is inconvenient, the spray button will put water all over your garment. If you don't have TINY hands, you'll have he same problem. Second, it pukes water onto the clothing you're trying to iron, NOT just when you hit the spray button. This actually seems to be worse at higher temperatures (like for cotton or linens). When it does leak, it isn't hot enough to flash the moisture off into steam leaving a dry garment. So (especially on darker colors) you end up with water spots. This is NOT an occasional occurrence, it's several times on every panel of a garment you try to iron. Those two problems are enough that I will be returning the iron. But the potentially worst problem is that it occasionally manages to belch brownish, almost rusty water onto the fabric you're ironing. This happened the SECOND time I used the iron. I did the self-cleaning step, and was able to use it two times without staining. Tonight, on the fifth shirt I was ironing (white, all-cotton), it puked the same brownish muck onto my shirt, which I now have to re-wash. We do not have unusually hard water, and this never happened with our previous iron. As I said, the iron is on its way back as soon as possible, and given this bad experience, I seriously doubt I would ever consider Rowenta again. At the very least I would urge shoppers to avoid this particular model.

This iron is TERRIBLE. It won't produce steam, doesn't get very hot and is overall terrible. It is basically a paper weight. My cheap black and decker worked WAY better than this and I wish I had not purchases this iron.

I bought this iron over a year ago and paid a LOT of money for it. It's a Rowenta, they're the best. EXCEPT ONE THING. The colored plastic is too dark to see the water level. I am a quilter and am constantly using the iron. Every day, Every 15 minutes. I bought other irons to try, but they do not have the heft or precision. For the reason stated in my review, the iron functions beautifully, its a shame that the water reservoir is a total guessing game. Change the color of the plastic to clear and you will have a PERFECT IRON. Make them purple or red or whatever color everywhere but the water reservoir. Ya'll owe me that.

I have now had two of these irons the first failed after 6 months of almost daily home use. The 2nd failed after 8 months non daily use due to Covid. This is not an inexpensive iron and I had had luck with Rowenta in the past. From my own experience and from the other reviews I have read about the Iron just stops working I feel Rowenta should investigate this product line.

I purchased one of the irons which was at the higher end. after 6 months it just stopped working. I returned to Rowenta and they replaced it about 8 months ago. Today the 2nd one just stopped working. We use our Iron every day because of Covid we have not been using it every day maybe that is why we got 8 months this time. This review seems to be consistent with many of the other where the iron just stops working.

I had an old iron that I was not happy with. It would only produce steam when it was on the highest setting (not good for some fabrics) and it dripped water on my clothes. I decided to get rid of it and get a new iron. This new iron will only produce steam on the highest setting and drips water all over my clothes. Considering the price, I would certainly not recommend this iron to anyone. On the up side it looks great.

Like other reviewers, my iron just stopped working today after a few years. I called a repair centre and they said it could be a fuse, which would cost me $60 to fix. Another centre said it would take 4-6 weeks to fix. My old Black and Decker at the cottage is still working fine...I paid $16.00.

I bought this iron two years ago and have loved it. However, it suddenly stopped working for no apparent reason (this is after having performed the recommended periodic scaling/maintenance since I bought it). Really thought paying a premium ($80) for an iron would amount to something that would last longer than 2 years, but clearly that's not the case. Very disappointed in the short warranty (clearly they don't have faith in their own product) and the quality/reliability of Rowenta. Looks like you would be better off just purchasing a cheaper iron because you aren't getting reliability/quality with Rowenta.
It has only 2 settings for steam, you either have too much steam or hardly any. The handle is too small so you keep press the spray button.
