Peg Perego Primo Viaggio SIP Convertible Car Seat in Atmosphere

We bought this through another large retailer but thought to share our review of this to spare others the same trouble. We have an entire suite of Peg Perego products -- the Nido 5 infant carseat, the booklet stroller, the booster seat. And then there's this one. The licorice option is a leatherette that is handsome when first installed. However, after one washing (in the gentle cycle, in an extra large garment bag), there were small white fissures showing on the surface. These are going to get worse, and more are sure to show up in the course of this seat's lifetime as it will likely be washed several times. Not to mention, it is not going to hold up very well to a toddler's use and picky little fingers as these fissures become bigger. We were hesitant to wash this leatherette at first, but the tag did say, 'machine washable,' plus one would think that the manufacturer would design upholstery that's meant to withstand up to years of heavy toddler use (and associate laundering, assuming gentle cycle). We contacted the company and was told that these are cosmetic defects and they can offer us a one time 50% discount of $36 for a replacement seat cover that's normally $72 (plus shipping). So, we were hoping to use this car seat until our 16 month old toddler reaches 65lbs, or approx grade school age. And this means that we're going to be buying replacement covers every year or so for $72 (plus shipping)? I'll bet the other seat covers on the same model don't have this issue. Get any one of the others. This licorice is going to be a money sink...as if baby products don't already cost enough

Received this car seat off our registry. We chose this car seat because of the name which has been around forever and there’s a reasoN why. This is an excellent car seat.y son looks very comfortable in it and it clicks in very easily.

I have 2 in my car, my husband has 1 in his. Really like the ease of installation, adjusting for height (or even 2 different kids) is easy since you don’t have to rethread the car seat. A big draw for this car seat was that it doesn’t lean back super far while rear facing, so front seats weren’t affected in Grand Cherokee or CRV. We also really like that it comes in other colors besides black.

I’ve had this carseat for a year and a half. My daughter is now 3 years old and the button to loosen the straps is right within hands-reach for her that when I go to the back to get her out of the car after any car trip (sometimes a 3 hour roadtrip) she is completely unstrapped! This has been happening for about 6 months but I thought I was just seeing things until I found her yesterday practically arms out of the straps. She loosens them BECAUSE the button is so close for her. This is a huge safety flaw. I called Peg Perego and the rep stated “kids are smart”. What?!?!? THE BUTTON SHOULD NOT BE EASILY ACCESSIBLE TO THEM! Waiting to hear back from them. My daughter is essentially not strapped in at all and loose in the car! Insane!

we bought this after some serious research and are very happy with our purchase. The only thing that I wish it had was a cup holder. You will need to also have a big enough vehicle for this because of the angle it sits. We have a suv and it works.

I never leave reviews but I am very disappointed in this product, straps are always twisted, the chest strap is difficult to unlock making it hard to get the child out every time and no cup holders,I tried to return it but they didn’t let me because I used it, it has to be new in the package to return it. Before this car seat we used Graco forever 4 in 1 and loved it, never had any problems, don’t waist your money on this product!

The only reason it is not 5 stars: there are no hooks to hook the straps back for easy loading and strapping in. That's literally the only thing I can see that can be improved. This is our 2nd exactly like this
