Usually I like the OXO products I buy and thought this would live up to the rest I have purchased, It does not. It is cheaply made, and can only slice a very thin slice of cheese. I thought it was going to break when slicing a brick of cheddar cheese. Not at all like previous cheese slicers I have purchased previously. Very disappointed.

We have used this just on regular 2 lb bricks of cheddar and it cuts really well. The slices are nice and thin and it is easy to use.

I purchased this based on recommendations from one of my favorite cooking shows, America's Test Kitchen. The reviews that state this is flimsy do not understand that it's for control. It really is good quality. It's OXO. And the cheese doesn't stick to the plane like other planes I've experienced. HIGHLY recommend!
