The blade is sharp. Slicing neatly takes a little practice, to apply the correct pressure and orientation of the fruit or vegetable. Have not used the julien feature yet.

I’m sure this works great, but its huge! The food pusher alone is as big across as a desert plate with a huge knob on top. It fits awkwardly under the unit. I cant imagine where I would store this beast of a slicer. It’s going back...

Tried for first time slicing onions. Quick as with food processor and lovely slices. Impressed and pleased. Only negative is I have not mastered getting the end piece as nice, and that’s probably my fault. I wish I had something to slip over blade to make me feel safer as I tuck away. Definite plus in kitchen.

First time I used it, I cut my hand!! Have not had a chance to return, but will never use again. Would not recommend!

Had a slicer that was old and had gotten dull. Like this one so much better and use it so much more often, because it is easy to clean and is one piece, besides the holder.

I purchased this mandoline to replace another one that no longer had the extra piece attaching to food to hold it in place while slicing. This one works even better than my older one, with several options for width of slicing. I really like the large knob that holds the food in place which makes it even less likely to slice a finger when using. The mandoline is nice and sharp making slicing food quick and easy. I also like the stand that elevates it for a proper positioning and stabilizing. I would definitely buy this mandoline again.
