These plates are crisp, elegant and durable. I did not register for fine china since it always seems too nice to use, but I did want to have a "nicer" set of plates to keep separate from my everyday plates that I was not scared to use/break/wash etc. I have had a set of 8 dinner and salad plates for over 2 years and there isn't a single knife scratch on any of them. I am about to buy another set to bring me up to a serving capacity of 16. [I have a big family :-)] The plates are thinner so they stack really well without taking up a lot of space. I am an extremely critical shopper and I definitely recommend these plates.

No more durable than "regular" fine china JenD ·

It's pretty... I'll give it that much, but don't be fooled by the description. As any reputable china manufacturer or collector will tell you, bone ash simply affects the color, not the durability. Durability is determined by the firing temperature, and since bone china is fired at approximately the same temperature as other fine china, it's no hardier. Another thousand degrees or so, and you'd get porcelain, which is certainly more durable, though absent bone ash. Bone ash lends a creaminess to the white color and is slightly more transparent than fine china that contains no bone ash, but that's all it does. Sad that this is being marketed with information from an old wives' tale.

Product poorly packaged and arrived in pieces Polly ·

I ordered this item and the pasta dish to complete my set. They were shipped in the same box and the pasta dish was carefully packaged in a separate box, so it was fine. The salad serving bowl, however, was merely wrapped in bubble wrap and arrived in pieces with many, many sharp (dangerous) shards everywhere in the box. Far as I can tell, the item itself would be fine - the issue was the poor packaging. So, I went to the website to see how to get a replacement. Only options were to drop it off at a local store (I live in Montana and the nearest store is 100+ miles away on slick, icy roads) or to accept a return shipping label to send it back, which seems to be a really unsafe option. There is no customer service number on the website, so I called the store in Helena, Montana, and was told that those are my only options. I merely want to have the item replaced and I offered to send them photographs of the damaged item. Nope. It could be 6 moths before I travel to Helena again, so I'm stuck with a box full of broken china.

Extremely high quality bowl. Quite0 large. Would also be great for popcorn or making bread.

It looks good. I wished it also came in a slight smaller size.

Great Customer Service clares ·

I got a complete set with my wedding registry (cups to plates to bowls to sugar bowl to butter - entire set). Well, all of them are absolutely amazing, but one of the plates cracked when I put hot pasta on it; it was awful, truly. I emailed Fitz and Floyd though, and they immediately sent me a replacement plate within five days. Their customer service is absolutely amazing and I love the collection.

This bowl is amazingly helpful. I knew I would use it for salads, but I have used it for so much more. It is one of the most used and most practical dishes that I have.
