Great value for this wonderful chenille. Plenty of material for side coverage even on a high boy mattress like I have. I had one similar that I bought years ago and it finally wore out so I began the search and ended up getting this one. Better price than other retailer I bought from in the past and it is almost exactly the same in weight, detail, and length. Just love it. I did launder when it first arrived and it turned out beautifully. Of course with chenille you shoud always watch for the lint and of course there will be some in the beginning but it does diminish over time. This is not a true vintage chenille but you will have the look and the durability of the old time chenilles. I have many of them and certainly none of them are ever in the king size, just double beds back then folks. So enjoy if you decide to buy this one. I sure am.

I waited for months to order this spread that was out of stock. The price should have been my first clue. I suspect Quality may have declined due to supply issues - this can hardly be called Opulent or luxurious. This is not your Mother's Chenille spread. Upon first washing (cold water, gentle detergent, front loader washer Permanent Press Cycle) and tumble dry on low I was shocked when I saw the backing, it is some sort of really cheap thin material that shed tissue like layers and is very thin. There are actually linear holes forming. I like to wash my spread each week and I don't anticipate this spread lasting very long. The chenille is very sparse and coarse and there are large areas of the design with no chenille. I regret not returning it after the first washing but lesson learned. It's like buying a cashmere sweater, the quality and design varies greatly, next time I will aim a little higher on price point and examine the feel and fabric before buying.

I realize the shams did not come with the spread. That made me surmise that the spread itself would be of exceptional quality, but I was wrong. It's almost "WISH"-worthy. Very thin, very basic, very "cheap." If you have patterned sheets, you'll see the pattern right through the spread. If you're expecting the lush, vintage feel of a vintage chenille spread, trust me, this isn't for you. I'm certain this product won't last more than a year, or two washes, whichever comes first. I'm quite surprised that BB&B would distribute a product of such inferior quality.
