I am actually using this for my leopard gecko's water dish. Just the bottom part. I could not find a good sized glass water dish and this fit the bill perfectly. As a butter dish I think it would look fantastic on your table. It would fit 2 sticks of butter. It is very pretty with the lid on. It does not look cheap or poorly made. I will definitely order another one for butter this time.

I had a glass butter dish so that I could leave it out on the counter but always see how much I had left. The problem was that it was so small, just putting the cube of butter in it coated the cover with butter! So I was looking for a larger one that would take maybe even more than one cube and this is it. The cover rarely gets anything on it, there is a lip on the bottom so you don't put butter on the counter and it washes nicely in the dishwasher, a triple threat!

Size not ideal for Canada since 1lb butter does not fir without trimming an inch off.

I was expecting a butter dish to hold 1 stick of butter. This butter dish is very large. Seams to be good quality though.

I like that I can put in 2 sticks of butter and it looks nice sitting on my counter.

I like the glass product, however, I now which it had a a sealing to hold the top to the bottom. Without the seal the top is unstable. I have not found any other better butter dish that hold more than one stick of butter.

Perfect size for the Large Butter cube. Keeps it in good condition and easy is to use.

Purchased this butter dish in Oct, 2016. Love that it holds two sticks of butter. Rated four out of five stars because lid top is somewhat cumbersome to grasp in order to remove if one has smaller hands. A workaround for me was to actually invert dish for use, so it is much easier to lift and remove bottom rather than top. Dish remains stable, as well.
