I read many reviews before purchasing the pasta press, some of which left me unsure as to whether buying it was a good idea. However, I took the plunge and am happy to report that after using it, I'm very pleased with my purchase. The press works well and it's fun and satisfying to see the pasta dough come through the dies in all the different shapes. I had a bit of an "I Love Lucy" moment when I couldn't keep up with cutting the pasta fast enough, but I got better the longer I used it. I also read many different pasta recipes before trying the press for the first time. The basic recipe that comes with the press calls for only all purpose flour. Some others I found online recommenced a 50/50 mixture of all purpose and semolina flour. Luckily for me, I have an expert consultant...my father, who worked for 50 plus years as a flour milling engineer. After consulting with him, I went with the 50/50 mixture and the result was perfect. That's not to say you can't achieve acceptable results with only all purpose flour, but using a mixture with semolina flour will give you a "sturdier" dough more suited to pasta.
I have had two of these, both of which have inexplicably developed hairline cracks and leaked blue fluid all over the place. In either case, the unit was treated very carefully and not dropped, bumped or otherwise damaged. The first time around, the unit was replaced by Kitchen Aid. This second time, I think I will have to go with another brand and get a standalone ice cream maker. I am seriously wondering why this product has not been recalled. The many reports of it leaking are easily found online.

This just makes cooking so much fun, love being able to do something creative.
I spent a lot of money buying my KitchenAid mixmaster and various sized bowls and attachments. I purchased the whisk. I had no idea the problem with the aluminum whisk. I never put it in a dishwasher. I had it stored in my cabinet with all my various bowls and attachments. I went to take it out and it was black (and so were my fingers for touching it.) I tried cleaning it, but it still looks disgusting. When I saw they have a stainless steel one, I wondered why I was sent the aluminum one...And, of course, they are out of stock, so I can't even buy a replacement. Very disappointing considering how much I spent on all this...

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used the pasta attachments for spaghetti, fettuccine and lasagna.I will never buy store pasta again, the egg pasta recipe is bullet proof each time it has come out perfectly. Easiest is the clean up, helpful tip, when you’re finish making the pasta you want lightly dust with corn flour and it won’t stick as it’s not gluten so the pasta won’t feed off it. I am so happy with this machine xx

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought this bowl recently as I needed another bowl and a smaller one. It has been exactly what I needed it is a great size.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The pieces looked a little daunting straight out of the box but its completely easy to match f and you can have amazing soft ice cream in 20 minutes or throw it in freezer for a harder result. we prefer the softer. super fun for all and its fun coming up with new flavours!

I read all these negative reviews on the ice cream maker and can’t believe that there are so many faulty units out there. I’ve had had mine for years, since 2006. Freezes well, doesn’t leak inner fluid, churns nicely and paddle fits and works perfectly. Someone must be doing something wrong somewhere and I don’t think it’s Kitchenaid. I had the worm gear give up the ghost on my KPM5 lift bowl mixer. ( my fault, I used too fast a speed mixing heavy pasta dough.) I rang Kitchenaid and explained problem. It was picked up by couriers from my front door. Sent to Kitchenaid repair centre, had worm gear replaced and brought back to my front door by courier. I live in regional Victoria (180 km from service centre ) so couriers would not have been cheap. It was all covered under their 5 year warranty. Did not cost me a cent. How many manufacturers provide this sort of back up service ? I ask you.
