A Great Step Change in Roomba Performance ·

Roomba past experience: Dirt Dog, 610 Professional, 880. Roomba improvements have been incremental up to now. The s9+ is a step change in performance features that really count. The extractors and the Roomba shape combine for very efficient cleaning; important to us multiple pet owners. The bin is very easy to clean and needs only modest attention weekly. The bag bin is a great addition which means that dust, dirt and pet hairs don't get loose when emptying the bin. Mapping is a great feature for spot cleaning or extra cleaning trouble areas. The cost of this Roomba suggest that you're getting the best - that is correct.

I purchased this unit just over a year ago. I loved the unit and recommended it to multiple friends and family. This week it sounded funny while vacuuming. I stopped it immediately and when I opened the dust bin I found chucks of black plastic. After further investigation it appears the vacuum motor had disintegrated. I called customer service only to find out that my warranty had expired a couple months ago. He then proceeded to tell me that there are no replacement parts available for this model and the only thing I could do would be to purchase a new unit. When I asked him to transfer me to a supervisor I got put on hold then ended up back at the original phone tree. Great customer service!! A quick internet search shows this is a common problem with this model. This is a very expensive unit and should last way longer than it did. It is obvious a design flaw. Please do not buy this model!!!! You will regret it.

Honestly I use to stress about cleaning this system really works no issue, replace trash bag regularly, brushes keep clean after each run, pick up toys. It's a life saver, saves me so much time plus don't have to hire someone. It maps the whole house and you can pick which room to clean. Best invention ever!!!

I've had my iRobot S9 series since 2021 and use it routinely three times a week to clean by home. Flooring consists of both tile and hardwood. Since I've owned by Roomba I have unfortunately encounter issues with both the charging base and Roomba BUT customer service replaced both items at no charge to me. While the Roomba is pricy it is worth it!

Love how smart and thorough it is, but it's a chore to maintain. Despite the fact that I keep up with all the required maintenance it still get very dirty. It's very hard to clean the dust that gets behind the sensors (inside the plastic). It will not operate correctly if it can't see. Overall I love it. It's really nice to leave the house and come how to a very clean home. I've had it for 2 years now. I'm hoping it'll last a few more years I just wish it was easier to clean ALL the parts

First off, I hate to write reviews that are not positive. I know that some group was responsible and likely proud of the product. But, after having it for about 6 months I think I am done. I have a very small 1st floor of about 700 sqft. The robot takes 7 hours to clean it (on eco mind you) due to the time it takes to go back and recharge. That is just absurd for a vacuum of this price. I tried a new battery with no better luck, so its not that. I am now on my 4th (yes in 6 months) pair of rollers. They wear out so quickly and then barely pickup any dirt. I won't even get into how many side brushes I have replaced. They last just about 2 weeks before they fall apart and are vacuumed up themselves. Now, lets talk about the wheels. 6 months and they are both wore down to nothing. So now I have to shell out (lets be modest) $100 per wheel? So that means I would have spent about $500 in parts to keep this puppy gong for the past 6 months. Today when I saw the wheels needed replaced I decided to spend that money on a different brand vacuum. I mean why not put it towards something with less maintenance. I will be broke if I have to keep this up! The one positive is the clean base works great. No device should need this much money in maintenance in 6 months. This is almost criminal. Time to lock this puppy up... in the trash. Side note: Software and app are ok, but now it found some hallway that is as long as my whole house sticking out the back of my house that it keeps trying to clean. Maybe a secret tunnel I don't know about? If I find a tunnel to some treasure, that would help keep this thing running I guess.

I think it cleans fairly well considering I have two dogs who shed bad. HOWEVER the s9+ robot that I have after over 2weeks of having constantly runs into everything over and over again almost not able to move at. It's sensor is also trash. The whole reason I purchased one was because in the ad it stated it would avoid things on the floor. So far it has ran over a charger and 2 piles of dog dh*t! I have a fairly large dog who doesn't go inside unless needed. The poop is hard to not notice but the robot went right through it and trailed. I do not condone the dog doing it (no one was home) however like I said I was told it was smart and the thing is mighty messed up.

This product is a joke and deserves 0 stars! In the 6 short months that we have owned this robot, we have had multiple issues. The first one being within 3 months of owning it. After waiting on hold for customer support for almost an hour, the answer was it is a "software issue" and simply needed a reboot. While that did fix the problem, it was only temporary. Over the last 2 weeks, we noticed that it was no longer completing a full clean, despite being scheduled to do so. Then it was getting stuck in areas that it was set up on the map to not go to. The past week, it has been notifying me via the app that it is stuck only to find that it is "stuck" ONE FOOT from the base. And 2 days ago, it has been sending a notification that it is paused (again ONE FOOT from the base) because something is stuck in the right wheel, despite it being completely clear. We previously owned a Neato D7 robot vacuum and it lasted 4 years. It was also the same shape as the s9+, which we loved because it really did do a great job getting in the corners, used wi-fi and an app to set up and schedule the map and cleaning schedule; however, when it was time to replace it, we chose the s9+ because of the self-cleaning option and we were confident in the Roomba brand. At a total cost of $882, I would expect that the robot would have functioned properly for at least a couple of years. Never would have thought it would only be 6 months. I wish that we would have listened to the reviews instead of taking a chance on a vacuum that has clearly not met our expectations, especially from such a well-known robot vacuum brand. iRobot should be ashamed of the performance and durability of their product, especially at such a high cost!

I have a 960 and s9+. Neither of them work properly. You can't replace tires on the s9+ you have to buy an assembly. It will leave very noticeable marks from its sharp edges on your baseboards and furniture. The corner brush and light green roller will only last a week if you have rugs. I had to replace it twice after creating custom maps crashed its memory. Now the map shows it driving about 1/2 mile from my house and the memory is full.
