A Great Step Change in Roomba Performance

Roomba past experience: Dirt Dog, 610 Professional, 880. Roomba improvements have been incremental up to now. The s9+ is a step change in performance features that really count. The extractors and the Roomba shape combine for very efficient cleaning; important to us multiple pet owners. The bin is very easy to clean and needs only modest attention weekly. The bag bin is a great addition which means that dust, dirt and pet hairs don't get loose when emptying the bin. Mapping is a great feature for spot cleaning or extra cleaning trouble areas. The cost of this Roomba suggest that you're getting the best - that is correct.

I really regret buying this. We had one of the entry level, less expensive iRobots and thought we'd upgrade. But this one can't do nearly the job the cheaper one did. It constantly gets stuck on things the older one never did: edges of carpets, sheets of paper, errant socks, kitchen toe kicks, charging cords. Again things that any other iRobot has no problem with this one gets stuck on. It would be fine if it actually cleaned the hardwood well. We almost never run it and Its become a joke that I have to sweep first or the room wont be clean. And like clockwork it gets stuck within 20 minutes of every job. I basically cant do a cleaning job without a human around to help up. whats the point?! I waited too long to return it but would give anything to swap it for a different model.

This robot clogs up so easy, never finishes a job without either getting stuck (in the middle of the room) or just some vague "couldn't finish the job" error. Would not buy again. Oh and if you have dogs- forget it. This thing misses fur all of the time!! I end up having to manually vacuum more often because it spreads fur around rather than sucking it up.

We bought this product last fall. Vacuum is not the best. We didn't use it frequently and the used space is not large. After 6 months the battery totally died. The battery warrenty is only 6 months. The replacement is $100.



Complete garbage. I regret buying.

The hardware is okay. The software is laughably bad. This robot constantly tries to go through walls to get to rooms it can't reach no matter how many times I run the TERRIBLY slow mapping function. It gets stuck for many minutes on each doorstop in my home which leads to permanent damage to my carpet in those spots. It has never once been able to navigate back to the dock after I recover it from an error. Whatever algorithm they are using for navigation is absolutely garbage. Next robot will 100% be a lidar bot.

Worked only one year before I had to replace first the battery and then the clean base. Shipping of each of these took more than three weeks, and then the link to print the return label for the base was broken and I had to call and get another email link. The vacuum itself requires lots of fussy maintenance and rebooting. Naming the rooms for mapping was difficult because there was no orientation such as designating which way was north, and the shapes of the rooms show all cuts for furniture, cupboards, etc., so it is hard to tell which room is which.



s9+ - Waste of Electricity & Replacing 1 Wheel, 3 Months Use

s9+ Roomba: Replacing one wheel after only 3 months of use, and having to keep the lights on so Roomba can navigate is ridiculous, especially when we're trying to conserve energy on the ERCOT grid. If the s9+ map is so good, why do we have to continue to turn the lights on? This Roomba still hasn't been able to navigate into 2 of our rooms, even when we place Roomba in them. Roomba was stuck under a corner dinning room table chair and created an enormous room outside (probably wore that 1 wheel down on our carpet there). We blocked that outside room Roomba created, but can't delete it. We should be able to delete within the map. We believe this s9+ Roomba was offered too far in advance. Tech's should have tested more, before releasing to the public. Can't recommend this s9+ Roomba right now, at least not until the s9+ Roomba technology has been improved and advanced. One pro - customer service is very helpful. Frustrated Customers!

The product is really awesome overall, but it slowly and steadily destroys almost all carpets... And updates aren't solving the problem, either pushes away your carpets or devours them... Not the standard of excellence considering the price.

I have had an iRobot for several years now. We have three dogs in our home with concrete floors and we're using an older version robot. We decided it was time to upgrade to a self emptying one shortly after getting the third dog. Since purchasing this product, it has only worked 50% or less of the time. It constantly states "please close the lid, then press clean", therefore it will not start it's scheduled cleanings or it stops after emptying or in the middle of a clean. I spoke with the help line and we done troubleshooting for a long period of time. They sent new parts (a new bin) for free, however it did not fix the problem and a year later, it still only works a portion of the time. I do clean it regularly and change out the filters/brushes on a regular basis, as well as clean the sensors. It's a shame because the product is so expensive and when it does actually run, it cleans very well.

How can I already need a new battery for a s9+ that I spent $1000 not even a year ago?! This new version is awful... It's extremely loud amd still has yet to successfully map our home, even after a factory reset and a new map. Buyers remorse for sure.
