got this for a smart tv that wasnt connecting to wifi. huge improvement and the interface is great.

This device is great for turning regular TVs smart for a cheap price. I love the directional pad on the remote as well as the dedicated voice, Netflix and YouTube button. The layout is good and it feels nice to use. Furthermore you can connect Bluetooth headphones. The only thing that I think could improve is that there are not as many streaming apps as I was hoping for, but its compatible for all my streaming sites that I currently have. In conclusion it is a great device that I recommend to all people without a smart TV.

For the best experience with Chromecast, we recommend using only the original adapter that came with it. We also recommend checking your network for possible congestion by removing some of your connected devices, since Chromecast typically requires a high speed Internet connection of at least 20 Mbps. Removing your devices will help free up some bandwidth space and enable you to test your Chromecast with Google TV, and see if you will still experience the same issue. If you will verify congestion, contacting your Internet service provider will be the best option and have them check your connection and upgrade them if needed. Impressive for the price! Easy set up. The remote is ergonomically satisfying and enjoyable to click. Menus are straightforward, the device is fast and responsive. The universal watchlist is nice. The interface isn't perfect but I suppose it will improve over time. I wish there was a better integration of the various apps; the "big ones" are seamlessly included in the home menu and watchlist (disney netflix amazon apple) but I hope someday there will be a way for the more local apps to be as seamless (here in Montreal we have global, tou.tv, ctv, etc) instead of having to go into each one separately. It works well with a tv tuner (like HdHomeRun), but that too could be better integrated in the main menu. I wish there was an audio-only mode to use in a chromecast speaker group for music.Lastly -and this isn't entirely on google- I do not like the general trend of how things are presented in streaming services; random categories of thumbnails. I hope this too improves over time.
