Somewhat disappointed. The Google Chromecast works fine, however, you need a smartphone to use it. There is no way to control the device without a smartphone, everything is casted from your phone to the Chromecast (Netflix, prime video, disney , etc.)I was assuming it would work similar to a firestick or appletv with a dedicated remote and built in apps but this is not the case. Also the Chromecast seems to get quite warm while being used.

Continuously drops connection; changes to YouTube make it nearly unusable for that ... it's fine to connect and play a movie (or a binge) on a streaming service, but it's very substandard for video control (volume, pausing, searching, restarting).

I've been using my Chromecast for a few years and it has served me well. I am ready for an upgrade though, as not having a remote is a bit of a pain. I don't think it would be a wise purchase currently (2022)

Easy to install and easy to use would recommend friends to buying the product

Like the old chromecast but the addition of a remote was a game change. It's a bit too small and sensitive in my opinon though, I accidentally push it's buttons.

Confusing with Google home does not always stop casting which uses up data on phone. Too much for some seniors to understand should be plug and play

Works great for all my personal needs. Remote is super and works flawlessly. Would really love an option to turn off or on all my devices at once. Highly recommend.
