I have made several loaves of bread in the few weeks that I have owned this breadmaker, and I was pleased with all of them. I have a two other bread machines and was a bit surprised at how this one kneads. It has a short knead 1 cycle, followed by rise 1, and then the much longer knead 2 cycle starts and followed by rise 2 and rise 3. The knead 1 and knead 2 cycles on my other machines are simultaneous. The machine has three crust settings, light, medium and dark. I use the medium setting all the time, and the loaves are nice and brown all over, but most importantly, done! This compact bread machine can bake up to a 2 lb loaf, but it doesn't take up a lot of space. The loaves are vertical, so there is a nice and fluffy top piece that is always reserved for me. I only make 1 or 1 1/2 lb loaves. There are a couple of audible alerts built into the machine, one is for when it's time to add in additional items, like nuts or raisins, and the other is an audible alert for removing the paddle! I really like the remove paddle alert, because I don't have to hover waiting for the rise 3 to start so I can take out the paddle. The recipes in the manual use all-purpose flour. I haven't made any, but if I do, I will either use bread flour or if I use the all-purpose flour, I will add a teaspoon of vital wheat gluten to better develop the structure. Overall, this breadmaker is easy to use, affordable and efficient, and I recommend it.

Purchased it as a replacement when my Breadman died. Delay feature did not work well. Used fresh yeast and added ingredients as instructed. Resulted in a brick of bread! Works okay if I use the dough feature only and bake bread in my oven. Would not purchase this item again. Due to arthritis I can no long knead bread. So gave it two stars because it does a good job of kneading.

Versatile machine with added features Sandy W ·

We’ll designed with the ability to add ingredients such as raisins through the process. The nice feature is the machine notifying you so you can remove the paddle. Other machines don’t have this and several slices are ruined when attempting to take the paddle out of the cooked bread. Artisian and pasta feature is also an added bonus.

I would buy this again. Sew Crazy ·

Good quality, after all it is Cuisinart! But the bread is reallly heavy and dense. I think that may be the bread mix I bought though, not the machine. Also, one will need to pause the mixing cycle and get in there with a rubber spatula - otherwise the bottom corners have flour that doesn't mix into the loaf.

I checked out a lot of bread makers and there are a lot that are highly rated. I had a tough time trying to decide, they all make great bread with a lot of options. There was one thing that made my decision very easy and that is size. Most of the bread makers are big and bulky. The Cuisinart is compact. Why is that important? The big bread makers don't fit in to our kitchen, so I thought that if I have to store it in the garage, I wouldn't use it. The Ciusinart fits neatly on to our kitchen counter and that means I see it every day. I make a loaf every week (2lb) and it's incredible. My advice is to buy a bread maker that you will use. This is the one.

Great machine and easy to use. Good quality and the price was reasonable. I have only used it twice and both times the bread tyrned out perfect.

Not working out for me! NS AZ ·

After about a dozen trials with different recipes, loaf sizes, regular and fast rise baking times, I’m about to give up on this bread maker. Haven’t produced a decent loaf of bread yet! Looking for my receipt to try to return it….
