Casabella® Extra Wide Roller Mop

I DO NOT recommend this mop, and suggest you try a different brand. I bought my original Casabella roller-mop in the local grocery store. Ergonomics are great - easy to pull handle, absorbent and rugged sponge, picked up dirt and rung out water very effectively. Used once per week and was very happy. EXCEPT, after 2 months, the plastic piece which connects the sponge head to the pull rod inside the head broke off. I contacted Casabella and did not hear back. Bought the 2nd one at BB&B and started using it. Meanwhile, a replacement mop from Casabella was delivered to my home one day, with no prior notification. Was nice of them, but poor communication. SO NOW, the 2nd mop broke in the exact same place, again after 2 months. Began using the 3rd mop and once again after 2 months, it also broke in the same place. Bottom line - the mop has a design flaw - the orange plastic piece inside the mop head, which connects the pull lever rod to the mop head is either made out of the wrong material or it is too light for the force it must take each time the lever is pulled. It seems to be made of ABS-type styrene plastic - it should either be nylon (much tougher) or metal, or substantially beefed up. I am an engineer and know part design - I know this was not designed to last. So, 6 months later; 3 mops, 3 breaks, same place. Not a coincidence at this point. At $25 to $30 a pop, this is expensive for what turns out to be a throw-away, disposable piece of junk. Save yourself the expense and frustration - buy a different brand.
