Love our Breville barista express and the customer suppprt Breville provides!! Makes me want to purchase more breville products!!

Bought this a bit over a year ago. Works great - grinder, espresso, creme, all good. But, last week it began leaking around the portafilter. Replaced with 3 different silicone gaskets. Leak continued. Turns out 3 of the 5 screws that hold the portafilter collar to the pressurized system had vibrated loose, causing the leak. Screws were installed without lock washers or thread locker!! It took me 2 youtube videos and 3 hours to fix -- added lock washers to the 5 screws. I've torn apart plenty of machines (one other expresso maker) and this fix was hard to do because you have to dismantle half the machine to get at the screws. Can't imagine how much a shop would have to charge for the time it takes. Pray yours starts leaking before the warranty expires! I say 'yes' recommend to a friend but only if he/she is good at complicated fixes.

I love the Barista Express! It does take some training and getting used to (learning grind amounts & pressure) But I find it fun to get the hang of it and try new things. Saving money and learning new things! I recommend it

I absolutely love this machine and unlike everything else these days, mine lasted over ten years. When I started having a problem with water flow, descaling didn’t fix it. I admit I didn’t know to descale routinely with more than vinegar so my fault. Anyway, I didn’t think twice about buying a new one and will be diligent about care.

My first Barista Express was a house warming gift I received in 2010. It made us great coffee for 12 years! It finally succumbed to the very hard water of the Southwest desert. To Breville's credit and their amazing quality assurance program, they actually offered to either repair my old one or give me a credit on a new one. All this after 12 years! I purchased a new one this year and have been loving my new machine. It's a bit quieter than the old Express, and makes the same delicious shots. You'll never want to go out for coffee again. And you'll have a VERY hard time finding a better company than Breville.
